The short version: your photos are processed entirely in your browser and are never uploaded. There is no server that receives your image, and nothing you create is stored by us. For the rest of the site we use standard analytics and advertising cookies, described below.
Your photos never leave your device
EmojiMosaic turns a photo into an emoji mosaic using the HTML5 canvas inside your own browser. The image you choose is read locally and processed on your device. It is not uploaded, not transmitted to any server, and not stored — by us or anyone else. Close the tab and nothing of your photo remains anywhere. The PNG you download is generated on your device.
What we collect
We do not ask you to create an account and we do not collect names, emails, or the contents of your photos. We do collect standard, aggregate usage data to understand how the tool is used and to run ads:
- Usage analytics — pages viewed, actions such as generating or downloading a mosaic, approximate location (country/region), and device/browser type.
- Technical data — your IP address and request logs, processed by our host and CDNs for delivery and security (not used to identify you personally by us).
- Advertising data — cookies and identifiers used by Google and its partners to serve and measure ads.
Cookies and third-party services
We use a small number of reputable third parties. They may set cookies and receive your IP address as a normal part of serving their content:
- Google Analytics (GA4) — measures site usage with cookies. See Google's Privacy Policy.
- Google AdSense — serves ads and uses cookies to measure and personalize them. See how Google uses cookies in advertising.
- Cloudflare — hosts the site (Cloudflare Pages) and runs a bot check (Turnstile) on the download action; it processes technical data for security and delivery.
- jsDelivr and Google Fonts — content delivery networks that serve the emoji graphics and fonts; they may log requests, including your IP address.
Advertising
Third-party vendors, including Google, use cookies to serve ads based on your prior visits to this and other websites. Google's use of advertising cookies enables it and its partners to serve ads based on your visits. You can opt out of personalized advertising by visiting Google Ads Settings, or opt out of some third-party vendors at aboutads.info.
Your choices
- Block or delete cookies in your browser settings at any time (the tool itself still works without them).
- Manage ad personalization at Google Ads Settings.
- Opt out of Google Analytics with Google's browser add-on.
Data rights (GDPR / CCPA)
Depending on where you live, you may have the right to access, correct, or delete personal data held about you, and to object to certain processing. Because we do not hold accounts or your photos, most requests concern analytics and advertising data held by Google — which you can control with the tools above. For anything else, contact us.
Children's privacy
EmojiMosaic is not directed to children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from them.
Changes to this policy
We may update this policy as the site evolves. Material changes will be reflected by the "Last updated" date at the top of this page.
